new school supplies~

i write a little bit for the Preschool newsletter that goes home to preschool parents. here is my article for september~

When August rolls around all of our kids are excited when the stores start getting school supplies in. I think that August begins children’s new annual calendar. They don’t get excited in January when it really is a new year. There little lives revolve around the first and last day of school. I remember as a child going back to school shopping. Getting new shoes, clothes and fresh school supplies for the coming year. The newness was exciting.
As parents each passing year can bring a mix of emotions. For some the excitement of just grocery shopping alone is reason to celebrate. For others the passing years bring sadness and a sense or urgency to relish each moment. And maybe for some it is a mix of both.

I want to encourage you as this new school year is upon us to celebrate the newness. Remember the smell of fresh new pencils and squeaky-clean tennis shoes.  Let the excitement permeate our homes. It is a new year, a new start. It might be time for us to become more childlike and look at this time as a fresh new year. I hope with this New Year you will look to what God’s Word promises.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17

If you are ready to find that new you or have any questions about what having a new life is please find me. I look forward to meeting you.

Here’s to the excitement of a New Year and a fresh start!
