disappearing ink

our second son, beau, came home from school a few weeks ago with a small bottle of dark blue ink. It looked like a refill ink for pens or some kind of printer. when I inquired of the ink he said he found it at school. practicing letting our children become more responsible, I reminded him to please keep it away from his younger siblings. I also reminded him that this ink could ruin anything it splattered or spilled on. beau then proceeds to squeeze some of the ink onto his shirt, then all over the off-white slipcover we have. WHAT??? SERIOUSLY????
i was almost going to loose it, when he started smiling and told me to come watch the mess he made. it began to disappear right before my eyes. this dark blue ink staining his shirt and our sofa was vanishing. within moments it was all gone, completely gone, without a trace.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Isaiah 43:25-26
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.
Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Hebrews 10:17
Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
as i read the verses above i am overwhelmed with gratitude that each day when i fall short, miss the mark, live in my flesh...that HE has cast my sin as far as the east is from the west. HE remembers it no more. just as the ink disappeared, vanished, so does my filth.
Matthew 26:28
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
let this verse in Matthew remind you of the true cost of that sin. Jesus died for you & for me. the price was paid. we are washed white as snow.
as silly as the prank beau pulled was, how amazing the revelation it brought to my heart~
