An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She dresses herself with strength
and makes her arms strong.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
who does not want to be THIS woman? i find myself reading these verses over & over again. some days i am right on it, my lamps are filled, we are clothed in scarlet, i seek wool & flax and i look well to the ways of my household. and then there are THOSE days...we all have THOSE days. i feel so disconnected to the proverbs 31 woman i was just yesterday. the laundry sits in piles because i have eaten from the bread of idleness, i defiantly didn't deliver sashes to the merchants, & i certainly don't feel more precious than jewels. i even find myself on THOSE days looking at other proverbs 31 women & comparing myself to them. i didn't work with willing hands, i opened my mouth & everything but kindness came pouring out. it is one of THOSE days.
this is our challenge & we all do it. our relevant church ladies all went to hear beth moore last saturday. it was a great day of worship, fellowship & teaching. the most precious time was when we all decided to go to dinner afterwards. we packed out the private dining room of a local restaurant & the Holy Spirit poured in. it was amazing!
this year we are starting our woman's ministry full force, called revive31. we believe God is calling us to the revival of the proverbs 31 woman. everyone is invited to join us. we will have a ladies luncheon after services THIS sunday at our oakridge campus. there will be dainty girlie food & everyone will get a swag bag~ there will be a few lucky ladies who will win major prizes!
this year we will have morning & evening weekly bible studies. we will pray & encourage each other.
my hope & prayer is that you will be forever changed by what is going to take place this year, through bible study, service, and sisterhood.
so hashtag it, picture it, facebook it, tweet it, instagram it...let's get the spread the revival of the proverbs 31 woman far from the walls of relevant church!
