taliban are on the road

when we travel we seriously look like the taliban. the interior of our car is a mix of pillows, blankets, bags, barbies, carseats, toys, books, games, movie players, headphones, juice boxes, snacks, shoes, 14 arms, 14 legs, and 140 fingers and toes. not to mention the luggage-
we are headed back to florida. during this trip we plan on beaching it, pooling it & sunning it! of course, while we are there we will head to st. pete to visit everyone at all children's hospital. we have not seen libby claire's team of doctors, nurses and the hospital crew in 2 years. we will also head over to the longboat key fire and rescue to visit some of our favorite firemen and EMS workers! pray for us as this trip is always relaxing but emotional. I update soon.

the mcgarity clan~

i was thrilled to have erin come out and take our family pictures on our farmland. yes, we are now farmers. stay posted because in the next few months we will have some exciting announcements about this acreage.
i work for erin styling her photography sessions. check her out here! it was so fun styling my own family. these are just a sneak peek with more to come soon~

i was going to use these for our Christmas ecard but my imagination has gotten the best of me and i am now styling our Christmas card session.

thank you so much erin!

swoon~ when i look at these pictures my heart swells.  it does. i am so thankful for our precious family. on days it is seamless. having five kiddos is effortless. but then there are those days... yes, it is crazy. yes, we are busy. yes, it is a lot of work. but it is all so very worth it all.
the time we share is shaping who we each are becoming.
cliche, i can not imagine my life any differently.

CAN NOT WAIT to share more about the farm!

a bird in the house~

romans 6:12

therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

a few weeks ago a bird was in our house. we still can not figure out exactly how long it was inside or how in the world it got in. when we came home from taking the bigs to school i heard something rustling around in matts office. i went in and couldn't see anything. there was this dried white drops on his floor, weird. i thought who found and got into the white out. i quickly went to scope out where finn would have hidden it. had to be him! as i passed the dining room the chandelier was swaying, weird. finally, after a good hour we saw it. perched in our entryway window. pooping up a storm!

matt got a towel, we tried to shoo it out the front door. with no luck. it then flew on the second floor in some unknown room. i needed that bird out at that moment. it was wiggin me out. we could not find it again. we looked in all the kids bedrooms, under stuff, on stuff. it disappeared. when we looked in our bedroom for the last time it had been sitting very motionless on our curtain rod. we closed our bedroom door, got the windows open, removed the screens and out it went. thankfully!

we might have left a door open and somehow the bird flew in. i am thinking the garage was left wide open and then the door was open. so it would have had to have flown in the garage and then made its way in the door also.

sometimes in life we leave our doors open and stuff flies right in. it perches itself somewhere hidden but then begins wreaking havoc inside. eventually, the poop starts. it is a mess. going from place to place inside our homes, hearts, families and lives.

once we see it and know it is there, we have to chase it down, shut it in one place and open our windows...then shoo it out. get it out!

the best part is we then replace the screens, shut our windows and lock them tight. keeping that thing from flying back into our lives.

the even better part is that we know now it is out there & wants back in. so keep a close eye on what doors you may possibly leave open.

hope~

may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
romans 15:13

hope is an amazing thing. it is one of those words you can't quite wrap your head and heart around. some days hope is all i have.

i have never experienced hopelessness~ even in the midst of really hard days. i can not imagine what desperation must be in the middle of hopelessness, the void.

my hope & prayer for you today if you are hopeless that this verse will penetrate deep into your soul. that our God of hope will fill that void with joy & His peace. and that by His spirit you may marinate in hope!
