acorns into trees

when matt and i moved from our first house we had mac, beau and maggie. we loved our little house on smith street. the house was surrounded by beautiful old oak trees. on our big "move day" matt got 3 acorns off the grass in the smith street yard. we put them in paper cups to let the kids watch them grow. and they grew and grew. we planted all 3 at hartley court. when we sadly moved our trees had no home. we planted them at pops & meme's house. here is mac standing beside his little acorn.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

papa is fab-u-lus!

there are no words...
i was cracking up when mom emailed me this picture. only a papa would do this for his maggie! sorry dad, i had to share. you are fab-u-lus!!!

windows are in!

while here in florida, our builder is keeping us up to date on the happenings on lot 140. so far, windows are in, electrical and plumbing go in this week. on our way to rookery lane!

grandmama & granddaddy

while so close to ft. myers we could not miss the chance to visit grandmama and granddaddy. mac was so thrilled to see all the oriental stuff and took 135 pictures to treasure. they both looked so happy and healthy. we enjoyed every minute of our visit.

maggie sat at grandmama's dressing table and got all "made-up." she put on all sorts of perfume!

4 generations of beauty!

the sunny side of life!

longboat key 2008
we have enjoyed our stay here at mima and papa's casa in sunny florida. beautiful weather, sand and surf. libby claire loves the beach! she eats scoops of sand and loves to crawl around in the ocean. mac, beau, and maggie are beach bums. they ride waves, build sand castles, and have found a million dollars...sand dollars!

maggie and claire

maggie had her first sleepover at claire owens house! she got all packed up and was so excited. i thought she would be nervous but it was really me who just couldn't help it. hard to let her grow up.

Goodbye Clover Presbyterian Church

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD. Jer.29 11-15
we will miss you! thank you for 8 years of support, growth, love and ministry!

Our New Church River Hills Community Church

Our Covenant

We believe in God the Father, Creator and creative,
He gives us His steadfast love,
shares with us our joy,
and sustains us in our suffering.
His power is open to us. We trust Him.
We follow Jesus Christ, Son of God and Son of Man.
His life is our example,
His death becomes our victory,
His resurrection is our hope.
In Him the Word has become flesh.
In Him we are offered
forgiveness from sin,
renewal from failure,
reconciliation from brokenness,
release from despair.
We are guided by the Holy Spirit,
God's presence in the world.
By the Spirit we are called into Christ's Church:
to celebrate His love,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen
to share with Him in baptism and eat at His table.
Because we are His Disciples, His pilgrim people, we joyfully
covenant with each other
to walk together in love
to pray for one another
to care for one another
to live in koinonia.
In life, in death, in life beyond death
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God!
needless to say, we love our new church. GOD has sent us to this amazing place called "home." we knew going into full-time ministry that HE could send us anywhere. to our amazement we ended up 10 miles down the road.

lot 140
here we go!

rhcc revolution youth: Bonclarken

i hope there are cheese balls in heaven!

Revolution Youth Retreat

i must admit i was really weary of going on this youth retreat. not only would we be spending a lot of time with TEENAGERS but our children would be there. i was blown away at how my perception of the crazy hormone enraged adolescent was changed. i fell in love with each and every one of our youth. God works in wonderful mysterious ways. i am so thankful for our time in bonclarken. not only were matt and i welcomed with open arms but our little ones were loved on the entire time. kids don't worry i ain't skeered! needless to say there was never a dull moment. beau even managed to climb a 60 ft. tall pole and zip line down! courage! my only thought was if he could do this at 6, what at 16?
